MediaCityUK set for £1 Billion development

Salford Council has made some ambitious plans to double the size of MediaCityUK over the next decade. The plan is set over 2 phases with the introduction of 10 new buildings. There will be an additional 540,000sq ft of offices, 1,800 apartments, retail and leisure, along with a pedestrian promenade and other cutting-edge public spaces.

MediaCityUK is a joint venture between Peel Land & Property and Legal & General Capital. They already house 250 business, such as the BBC, ITV, dock 10, Ericsson and SIS and with further long term commitments they will be looking to expand their portfolio.

Managing director of MediaCityUK, Stephen Wild, said: “We pride ourselves on having created much-loved buildings such as The Pie Factory and The Greenhouse”.

“Phase two will provide a unique opportunity for a new generation of designs to complement what is already a thriving and vibrant destination“.
