As new national restrictions are tightened across England, GB Shared, a Northern Powerhouse Partner, has set up an online cyber weekend sale, exclusively for the North West, in a bid to stimulate its local economy during the pandemic.
GB Shared Ltd is a network of countywide platforms including Lancashare, Mancheshare, Cumbriashare, Yorkshare & Merseyshare which aims to centralise and ‘share’ information and opportunities within the counties, to enable sharing and collaboration leading to the stimulation of local economies.
In response to the plight of businesses desperate to operate, and in partnership with sponsors Attain Digital, who donated the website, GB Shared has launched TheShareShop.co.uk. The online platform will encourage sales within the North West in the run up to Christmas.
The aim is to encourage as many businesses as possible to share their products online, whilst simultaneously encouraging local businesses and consumers to redirect their Christmas spend into the North West region. The NW has suffered during the 2020 pandemic as thousands of businesses have been forced to close.

“We simply had to do something, our membership is vast across the NW and includes public and private sectors, large, medium and small businesses, councils, colleges and chambers – we stand united in supporting our region”.
“Far too many businesses are struggling and many more want to help support them, the Share Shop will help us facilitate that collaboration, and hopefully, send some much-needed sales in the direction of these businesses at Christmas”.
The 4-day sale launches on what would have been GB Shared’s 4th birthday, Lancashire Day, which happens to fall on Black Friday this year. Hundreds of organisations are already involved, with products ranging from mobile phones and tablets to craft items, gift vouchers, getaways, cards, calendars and so much more!
